Mission

Peasant Dreams Farm is committed to sustainable and organic agricultural practices and is a member of Northeast Organic Farmers Association, NOFA-NY .  In addition to 16 acres of pasture and plantings, we manage over 70 acres of forest and belong to the NY Forest Owners Association, NYFOA. We also understand, given our four month growing season, the importance, not just of producing food, but of preserving it.  Kate serves as a regional representative for the Small-scale Food Processors' Association.
  • We raise our sheep on pasture and hay, no grain, no growth hormones, no antibiotics.
  • Our orchard, berry patches and gardens are free of pesticides, fungicides and herbicides.
  • Kate is the founding director of IthaCan, a local home food preservers' network
  • Our hens free-range every day around the farm and then return to the coop in the evening.
  • We acknowledge the role our forest plays in balancing our pasture land, securing the water cycle and providing shelter for the living things on our hill.
